My name is Kevin, and I grew up on Long Island, New York. My love for the outdoors started at a young age through hiking with my family on trails in the Northeast. That passion continued to grow through my involvement in my school’s Outdoor Adventure Club, where I went on hiking and backpacking trips that helped shape my appreciation for nature and being outdoors. I recently graduated from University at Buffalo with a degree in Environmental Studies, and through this, completed an internship with the Olmsted Parks Conservancy doing horticulture work. Outside of school, I enjoy hiking, running, rock climbing, boxing, and reading, but I especially love spending time at the park with geese, since I’ve always had a soft spot for waterfowl.
Through my education and personal experiences, I’ve become passionate about all forms of conservation, and I am excited to expand on skills and learn from Mt. Adams Institute. I find that being in nature brings a level of peace that’s hard to find otherwise, and I truly feel that doing work in the outdoors is where I’m meant to be. I’ve always had an interest in the Pacific Northwest, and being able to work in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest is a dream come true. I’m hoping this experience will help me grow and allow me to make a beneficial contribution to the land.
