Sense of Place has been running for 16 years now! In that time we’ve learned a few things about how to make the evening as enjoyable as possible. Please take a look at the Q & A section below for more information.

I am a Sponsor and/or Season Pass holder, how do I get my tickets?

Sponsors and Season Pass holders will receive an email 2 weeks before an event. The email will have a link that allows the pass holder to claim their ticket(s) for the next Sense of Place event. If you do not receive this email please first check your SPAM folder for an email with subject line **CLAIM Your Seat. If you still do not find the email then contact Sense of Place.

When do I have to claim my Sponsor and/or Season Pass ticket by for each show?

Sponsors & Season Pass holders MUST CLAIM their ticket by the FRIDAY BEFORE AN EVENT. Any unclaimed Sponsor/Season Pass tickets are released to the waitlist on the Saturday before an event. 

When will tickets go on sale?

All Lecture tickets will be available starting in September on our website. Tickets to all our Flagship events are made available online at the start of the season, through our partner, Columbia Center for the Arts (columbiaarts.org).

What if tickets sell out before the lecture?

If online tickets for a lecture sell out before the date, JOIN THE ONLINE WAITLIST—we use it! The earlier you’re on the list, the better chance you have to get a ticket. If needed, an in-person waitlist is created at the door starting at 6 pm (or when doors open) on the lecture day.

What happens if I bought a ticket and get to the theater after 6:50?

:Any seats not filled by 6:50 will be opened to our waitlist. However, if you have purchased a ticket and arrive after 650 you will be added to the waitlist, and you won’t have to purchase an additional ticket.

If I sign up on the waitlist, do I have to wait there until 6:50 to get a seat?

If you are on the waitlist, you can leave, however, please return by 650 if you would still like to be considered for a seat.

What time does the venue open?

Doors will open at 6 pm, or 1 hour before showtime if there are multiple shows. 

    When should I be in my seat?

    Please plan to be seated by 6:50. 

    If I get there late can I still get a seat?

    We will admit people until 7:10 if seats are available. However, you may have to join the waitlist.

    What time does the Bar open?

    The Bar opens at 6 pm when the doors open.

    When is Last Call?

    Last call will be at 645.

    What payment methods can I use at the Bar?

    Most of the time, the bar accepts cash and cards. However, there may be exceptions. We ask that you have patience with us if there is a line, or if we are  having technical difficulties.
