Summer Solstice ushers in more than just a new calendar season; it also the beginning of the 2013 Wilderness Ranger experience. This year, MAI is sending four great folks out into wilderness areas on the Mt. Hood National Forest and the Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest. Our Rangers, Andrew Post, Ryan Lawrence, Mackenzie Baxter and Jimmy Pardo will spend the next 12-16 weeks maintaining hiking trails, bucking logs, educating visitors and monitoring some of the greatest wilderness areas that the lower 48 has to offer.
The new rangers went through a week-long orientation; most of the training focused on getting them accustomed to the tools of the trade, including the cross cut saw.
