I developed a strong connection to the outdoors early in life, spending much of my time fishing, exploring waterways, and observing natural environments. This interest guided my academic path, leading to a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. My professional experience includes environmental monitoring, field research, hatchery operations, and service in the U.S. Navy. I have participated in a range of outdoor activities—from offshore fishing and diving to hiking throughout the Pacific Northwest—that have deepened my understanding of ecological systems.
I chose to join the Mt. Adams Institute’s VetsWork AmeriCorps program to contribute to conservation initiatives while further developing skills in habitat restoration and resource management. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals, apply and expand technical field skills, and support efforts to protect native species and their habitats. Through this experience, I aim to strengthen my capabilities as a conservation practitioner and contribute to projects with long-term environmental and community benefits.
