I served in the United States Air Force (Active Duty) for four years and the United States Air Force (Reserves) for two years. I’ve always had aspirations to “pay it forward” by giving back to the country that has given me so much.
I came to the United States as a five-year-old adoptee from South Korea. Growing up every day, my family raised me to serve others. I served in my community as a volunteer to build houses for families that were unable to work because of health reasons, and I served in the military to protect our country from threats foreign and domestic. There was never a doubt in my mind that enlisting in the military was a mistake. I was able to form new connections, create unique stories from my travels, and to understand different cultures that make up the United States.
I believe the VetsWork program will allow me to continue to serve and find opportunities that are not usually accessible for veterans like me. I am hoping to showcase my talents as a military veteran and as a recently graduated student to show how passionate, and excited I am for any open opportunities.
