My name is Taylor Davis. I am a US Army Veteran serving two tours in Afghanistan with the 82 Airborne Division as an infantryman. After serving, I got my B.S. degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. I grew up in Oregon and have lived around the Portland Metro area, as most of my family lives nearby. I am a novice hiker but enjoy anything outdoors, from camping, target shooting, learning archery, and painting landscapes.
I decided I needed to move away from the private sector and was drawn to the Mt. Adams Institute VetsWork position because I felt the need to get back to serving the public. Being able to work to help maintain our natural world and serve those that also enjoy experiencing public land is just the kind of purpose that excites me. Through this experience, I really hope to see the wide variety of work that goes into Recreation Management, gain some work experience in this field, and begin to build a career plan with a focus on our natural world.
