My name is Robert Ontiveros. I grew up in Southern California and moved to the PNW in 2016. When I moved here, I fell more in love with being in the outdoors. I enjoy going on hikes, finding hidden waterfalls, camping, and exploring the backroads of the forest. I served one full army reserve contract with a deployment to Afghanistan in 2014 as a combat engineer.
I decided to become an Mt. Adams Institute AmeriCorps Intern because of the opportunity it gives me to experience something I already love as an individual and cultivate it into a career. What excites me most about my position is being able to help grow and expand community engagement with events I have done myself as a volunteer. I hope to get an opportunity to show my best abilities and open up more doors for a career in the Forest Service.
