What can the Mt Adams Institute do for you!?! They can put you in a place to succeed! Just the fancy college degree will not always get you the job; employers want you to have real job experience. The AmeriCorps VetsWork internship provides you with just that. And the best part of the internship is you get to work with some of the brightest minds in the natural resources world. I was lucky enough to be able to spend my internship with the U.S. Forest Service on the Deschutes National Forest and it was an amazing experience. To be able to work with such smart, forward thinking people on a daily basis really makes for an enjoyable and rewarding workday.

The internship on the Deschutes National Forest acted like a springboard for what I am doing now and what I hope to be doing within the Forest Service in the near future. I owe all of this to the fine people at the Mt Adams Institute. If you take the internship serious and work hard your resume will be bolstered, you will be a part of the AmeriCorps family and that looks great to prospective employers. Along with professional gains that this program gives you, I felt good about the work I was doing on a daily basis. Something about serving “the greater good” stuck with me and I found myself really enjoying the realm of public service.

Blue Hour at Mount Adams, The #bluehour is the period of #twilight when the Sun is at a significant depth below the horizon and residual, indirect sunlight takes on a predominantly blue shade.

She’s off for her school overnight trip! She handled all of her own packing and I am fully confident that means she’ll have at least 95% of the things she really needs. Girlfriend is on top of it! #urchinadventures #montessorikids #overnightfieldtrip #cascademountainschool

Last week marked the end of our Mountain to Valley summer camp! For two weeks, students conducted meaningful ecological research while farming, backpacking, mountaineering, and camping. We hope that they left connected to themselves, with new skills and friends, and inspiration to become positive leaders and change makers in our world! #mtadamsinstitute #cascademountainschool #mountaintovalley #mtadams #troutlakevalley #highschoolcamp #science #stewardship
