Public Lands Stewards: My Love for Nature

September 21, 2020

Hello everyone! Growing up building forts and fishing in the creeks of the Pocono mountains, I have never been a stranger to the outdoors.

I love taking any chance I can to be dirty for days at a time in the backcountry, and experiencing new ways to enjoy the wilderness. While studying Visual Effects at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA I learned a lot about computer graphics and spent long hours in a lab. One day I broke out and took a backpacking trip to the Smokey Mountains where I rekindled my love for nature. Since then, I haven’t been able to step back in a lab but still use my skills in illustration to further enjoy the backcountry. I’ve been experimenting with using the burn areas and the abundance of charcoal to create pieces!

This experience with Mount Adams Institute and the Forestry is exciting to me because I feel like I am finally getting to do what I love and grown up doing: explore and nurture nature. Giving back with a team of equally passionate people is such a lucky opportunity, and I’m excited to see what this leads into for the future.
