Hello! My name is Maiya McAuliffe; I am from Tacoma, WA, as well as a recent graduate from Pacific Lutheran University with Bachelors Degree’s in Biology and Hispanic Studies. I have been active outdoors person, whether it’s hiking, backpacking, scuba diving, kayaking, or snowboarding, I am up for it all! I also have been heavily involved with Icelandic Sheepdogs, a rare and primitive herding breed, for the last 11 years.

I have decided to be a Mt Adams Institute AmeriCorps Intern because of my passions for conservation, and working in the outdoors. As a recent graduate, I am working on building my resume and gaining experience. This internship is exactly what I need to do that, as well as making connections in the PNW conservation world. I am most excited to gain the experience and connections during this internship as well as living close to Mt. Adams and in the Cascades!
