My name is Kathryn. I grew up in Corcoran, MN with my older brother and twin sister. I was very involved in sports growing up including soccer, basketball, and track. I continued my soccer career through to college. I graduated with a degree in Natural Resources- Park Management from the University of Minnesota Crookston. I am most passionate about traveling. To date I’ve been to 15 countries and territories. I joined the Navy in 2015, serving for over 5 years with two years aboard the aircraft carrier John C. Stennis in deck department and security before working at MCSFBn security forces and at the DSO West legal office in Bremerton, Washington.
I decided to become an MAI AmeriCorps Intern because of the opportunity it gave me to work in the National Park Service as well as the different experiences I will get within this internship and the connections I will undoubtedly make. What most excites me about this internship, and working at Badlands National Park in particular, is the different aspects I’ll get to experience within the job.
