I grew up in Portland, Oregon, playing baseball, surfing, and hiking. I am a middle child with an older sister who is married and living in Nashville, as well as a younger brother who lives in Philadelphia. My mom’s side of the family resides on the east coast, from North Carolina to New York. My dad’s side of the family is centered in the Bay Area. I have a degree in Geology, with a minor in Religious Studies, from Occidental College in Eagle Rock, CA. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work, learn, and make life-long friends in locations ranging from the Himalayas in Nepal to the high desert in Nevada.
I decided to become an Mt. Adams Institute AmeriCorps Intern because of the potential future geological and land management job prospects and opportunities to explore a new wilderness area and connect with like-minded people. I look forward to spending my days in the mountains and fresh air, riding OHVs, and performing trail maintenance. Also, I’m excited to be close to the Pendleton Round-up this summer!
