When the pandemic hit, I was living in Minneapolis, MN and working as a corporate copywriter in the healthcare industry. I slowly realized that I needed a change. A year and a half later, my life could not be more different. I never thought I’d be working in the outdoor education industry with young kids, but if the past few months have taught me anything, it’s that you can change your life, you just have to take a leap. As a summer camp educator, I’m pushed outside of my comfort zone daily, but I’ve never found a job more fulfilling. Helping children form positive memories in nature has reminded me of my own passion for the natural world and I hope to carry this with me into my future career, whether it’s in science communication or general education.
